Rescue Me ID: 17-03-19-00070Oscar (male)
Hi everyone! My boyfriend and I inherited a very unhealthy and sick porch living persian when we bought our house a little over a year ago. His hair was so overly mangled it was coming off in clumps, leaving bald spots throughout his body. He was so infested with fleas, when we brought him to his first vet visit they had to do a lion cut on him. He was sneezing up blood and his breathing was horrible. I am a huge animal lover and couldn't stand watching him being so sick. So, we decided to bring him inside and get him healthy. We would love to keep him, but I'm hoping to find someone who knows the Persian breed more who can better care for him. My boyfriend also is allergic to cats, as well as our room mate. The first several months weren't bad, but not that his hair is mostly all grown back, it has been starting to be an issue for the both of them. So now that he is much more healthy, we have decided it's time to find him the loving home he deserves! We named him Oscar, because he's like an 'award winning cat'. He is truly beautiful, and extremely loving and affectionate, I am truly sad that he can't stay. The vet assumed he was around 4 when we took him in. He hasn't been in for awhile, our main goal was to get him inside and healthy enough for us to find him a good loving forever home. Pros: He gets along with other animals and kids He is extremely loving, he will cuddle for hours on end He doesn't freak out during baths, he actually somewhat enjoys them He is litter box trained He is super playful He likes being brushed Cons: He is a persian, he does have a smushed in face, we have gotten his sneezing down from sneezing blood (weeks of antibiotics and different opinions from different vets), to the 'normal' persian sneezing/mucus. I have looked everywhere online and have called several vets to get opinions, and have taken him into two different vets, the the ones I called and the ones I took him to see told me the same thing - some Persians are much more susceptible to sneezing and have a lot of mucus because of the anatomy of them. This is something the new owner will need to be aware of and ok with. He does have a small heart murmur, the vet said it's not a big one, and unless he'll ever need surgery in the future, won't be to huge of an issue. He has a small cavity. He is a high maintenance cat. His eyes need wiped, his ears need cleaned. He does still have his claws - this may be a 'con' for some. I am going to be picky with who he goes to. I will want to do a home check, I will ask that we have a notarized document saying if the new owner ends up not wanting him that they HAVE to bring him back to me, and I will also be asking for a rehoming fee. I am happy to answer any questions one may have! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-03-16-00489Mickey (male)
For adoption fees and more information about our adoption policies, and to complete an adoption application, please go to our website, purrpartners.org. Mickey, sweet, gentle boy, loves people. He loves nothing better than to sit with his foster Mom, purring as he is being rubbed. Being a big boy, a large lap works best, but he seems to think that lap sitting is pretty wonderful and add a little snuggling too. Mickey would like a quiet home and older children would be fine with him. He just met one of the other cats in the house and was interested but had no problem with the meeting, and he does enjoy playing pat paws under the door. There are no dogs in his foster home so we don't know what Mickey thinks of them. He is cautious about his surroundings but adjusting to his foster home nicely. He has shown some interest in toys but would rather hang out with his human. He prefers to remain on the floor or low furniture, not a jumper. With his long fur Mickey will need daily brushing which he enjoys and someone who understands the needs of long haired cats. If you are looking for a super sweet, loyal companion Mickey is your kitty. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-02-12-00456Pepper (female)
Introducing Pepper... Far from being your average house cat Pepper's personality and spunk will remind you of your best friend or college roommate. Her diva like temperament is most loved by those who know her best. She is sassy and sweet all rolled into one gorgeous girl. Her cat-titude is nothing short of a comedy act that our rescue followers love. Pepper has a secret addition to catnip that will cause her to need rehab (we promise). We guarantee that you have never met another cat quite like this and will love to hate or hate to love her to pieces. She has not had any easy road up until now as she has been hit and left for dead, fractured her leg, and almost died three times before, during and after an emergency surgery caused by an incident that no one believes until reading the vet papers. Pepper has a very long and bright future ahead of her and although she prefers being the only queen in her castle she also cannot be alone as she will become bored ending up into mischief. (Less)
