Rescue Me ID: 16-10-16-00495Hoot (male)

Persian    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This is Hoot! Named for his big green owl-like eyes, he is a 3 to 4 year old black Persian who loves neck scratches, being brushed, hanging on the couch, and Temptations cat treats. He has the cutest, quietest meow and lies sideways on the floor to push himself over to you to get some, much deserved, attention. Hoot was sent to us from a Charlotte, NC animal shelter where he was brought in as a stray. He was deemed unadoptable due to his aggressive tendencies and was scheduled for euthanasia. We were contacted by a volunteer, asking for our help because no other rescues would take him. We knew this kind of behavior was odd for a ... (Read More)Persian, so we took a chance on Hoot and we are so glad we did!!! Once we got him settled, and gave him some time to himself, he turned into a pure love bug. We realized Hoot's actions, in the shelter, were simply due to fear and being locked in a cage. Hoot would do well in a quiet home as he is still a little timid. He seems comfortable with dogs but they need to be calm and enjoy lots of Hoot's head rubs. He seems a little more hesitant with cats but would probably do fine as long as they are introduced properly. He wants to trust everyone and everything so badly but is unsure of a lot, can you blame him? Hoot is not a cat for beginners and people who have not had experience with Persians. He is a very loving cat, but he can get scared easily and requires someone who is patient. Young kids and a busy household are not where he would thrive. Experienced cat owners who understand the needs of this breed are what we are looking for to give Hoot a loving home. He came very close to losing his life, and we want him to have a truly forever home where he will be cared for, for all nine lives- or the six or seven he has left! Rescue Me ID: 16-02-15-00031Pepper (female)

Persian Mix    Age: Kitten

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Pepper is a 6 month old female tabby/Persian mix with a very interesting history. Rescued at 8 weeks after being hit by a car and left to die in the road alone. Thankfully she was found and brought to our rescue where she received vet care for only minor scratches and out of place hip. Finally coming around to trust us after two weeks Pepper became trusting and lovable with everyone and purring all the time. Recently Pepper was rushed into emergency surgery for Pyrometra. This girl had dealt with pain and infection for two weeks while showing no signs of distress, illness or fever. Chance of survival through surgery were slim which she ... (Read More)defied those odds. Recovery has been ongoing for her filled with pain, uncertainty and problems. Almost three weeks post op Pepper developed mammory abscesses that ruptured and others drained. These wounds have not stopped progress and today her sutures will be removed. No long-term effects on her health are expected and she has returned to the happy, playful and silly girl weve grown to know and love. Quirky, adorable, lovable, playful, affectionate, strong willed are how I would describe Pepper. Her unique personality and fight for life temperament makes us confident that Pepper will make a great companion. Socialized, Litter and crate trained, temperament tested, great with other cats, dogs and humans too. Fully vetted, vaccinated, dewormed, combo tested, updated Rabies, spayed. Adoption fee is $100 and includes all above listed vet care, testing and more. For more information on Pepper or to schedule a meet & greet please contact us. (Less)
