Rescue Me ID: 15-03-03-00449Giz (female)

Persian    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed

I rescued Giz from Dakin Humane Society in Springfield MA in January of 2013. She was a 9 month old kitten who had been in isolation for all of her life because of Ringworm. I Gave her Medicine and Lyme baths at my home until she passed 3 separate Tests for being negitive with ringworm. Giz is affectionate but independent. She will follow you from room to room yet only becomes a 'Lap' cat when she wants to steal your warmth, or knows you need it. Giz has only been around me for most of her adult life. She is typically very shy of Females when she first meets them but warms up with a few visits. Giz has never been around other animals or ... (Read More)children. Given her rough history in isolation as a kitten, it is assumed that she will be best as an only pet. She is free fed Wellness Grainfree Indoor formula dry food and eats only what she needs. I give her a can of wet food (typically fancy feast) once every other day. Giz is best when she is Groomed once every few months and enjoys lions cuts. When her hair gets to long she has problems grooming herself and her hair can become knotted. Sometimes she can become very frisky and can play rough. She has nipped and scratched me before but I always deserved it. She will always stop with a loud quick command. Giz also typically runs to meet you when you get home and will rub on your leg or roll on the floor until you give her some attention. Giz is looking for a kind soul to share a home with! (Less)
