Rescue Me ID: 15-10-05-00686Chapman & Voss (female)

Persian Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Voss and Chapman are lovely, sweet and gentle, six-year-old, seven and eight-pound, female Persian-mix cats looking for a loving guardian - preferably together. These two are super snuggly. In fact, it was hard to photograph them because they just want to purr and cuddle. They absolutely love people and let you hold them in your arms. They are talkative when they want attention, playful, and also wonderful with my other cats, dogs and rabbits. They are wonderful houseguests who use their litter boxes like good girls. They walk around purring and love to be touched. These two were found packaged in a box in a forest preserve. By the ring ... (Read More)around their necks, it was clear their collars had just been removed and their micro-chip had not been registered. They had been adopted from a shelter in Wheaton. These girls were quite ill when found and only weighed five and six pounds. Now after two months, they've each gained two pounds and are much stronger and a whole lot happier and more playful! They are spayed, up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccines, micro-chipped, virus-tested, fecal-tested and ready for a loving home. To meet and possibly adopt Voss and Chapman, please contact Sheri at or 773-777-2891. They are being fostered in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood. Their adoption fee of $200 as a pair benefits rescued pets. (Less)

Animal ID: 9755Chloe (female)

Persian Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed

Chloe was born approximately August of 2010. She, and her son were found in a garage, probably looking for warmth with the coming winter. Chloe is a beautiful girl with big bright gold eyes. She was quite tiny for her age, weighing a scant 6 pounds 11 ounces. She has blossomed and now weighs around 8 %BD pounds. Since she was a stray, she was very matted when first found and had to be shaved to remove the mats. She looked a little strange in her 'lion cut' with fur on her head and feet looking like boots. She will need brushing to remain matt free, but she enjoys it. Takes only a few minutes 2-3 times a week. Chloe has developed into a ... (Read More)wonderfully social little girl. She greets you when you walk into a room and will purr and wait to be petted. She will sit quietly or sleep in a sunny window taking her nap. It takes Chloe a while to get used to another cat, but she adjusts well. She presently has several housemates, one of which is her son. She enjoys the company of her people, especially if they could spend lots of time at home and who don't mind giving her a brushing a few times a week. She would do best in an adult home since she is a couch potato and would be more comfortable without young children. Teen children would be great. She is very neat and clean. Doesn't get into paperwork or other things that you may have lying around. Totally litter trained. Her adoption fee includes spaying, up to date on vaccines, (including rabies) combo tested negative and microchipped. Your entire family is required to meet Chloe. If you have it in your heart to adopt this beautiful dainty girl, and have a family that can give her time and attention she deserves, please fill out the adoption application and contact us for your meeting with her. Rescue Me ID: 15-08-21-00238James (male)

Persian Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

James is my 'good cat.' He's very inquisitive and likes to hang out among a group of people, though of course, any physical contact is on his terms. He's very tolerant and submissive to my small dog and will lie still while my pup will nibble at him. His coat is soft and very wavy with moderate-to-heavy shedding so I give him a lion cut from time to time. He's even more social when he has the lion cut. He likes to climb wherever he can get something good, so I recommend keeping treats at the top of a cat tree. REASON FOR REHOMING: I have another cat, who suffers from anxiety, who is best suited in a one-cat household. Rather than rehoming ... (Read More)the problem cat, I think James would have a far easier transition into a new home. (Less)
